AfterusingyoursignalreferencetodeskewC2(Master)andC2(relabeledC6,Slave),deskewtheremaining
channelsinthefollowingmanner.
Deskewing Remaining Slave Channels
• DisconnecttheSMApowersplitterorPCF‐200DeskewFixturefromtheC2(Master)inputandconnectto
theC3(orrelabeledC7)channelontheSlaveoscilloscope.Usetheprevious1‐4stepstodeskewC3
(relabeledC7)toC2(relabeledC6)ontheSlave.
Note:DonotadjustthedeskewontheC2(relabeled C6,Slave)Channelsincethisisthereference.
AlwaysadjustdeskewontheotherSlavechannelsC3(relabeledC7),C4(relabeledC8),andC1
(relabeledC5)tothisreference.
• RepeatthepreviousstepfortheremainingC4(relabeledC8),andC1(relabeledC5)Slavechannels.
• Uponconclusionofthesesteps,allSlavechannelsaredeskewedwithreferencetotheC2(relabeledC6)
Slavereferenceestablishedearlier.
Deskewing Remaining Master Channels
• DisconnecttheSMApowersplitterorPCF‐200DeskewFixturefromtheSlaveoscilloscopecablesor
probesandconnectittotheMasteroscilloscopecablesandprobes.Oneoftheconnectionsshouldbeto
C2(Master),andtheothertoC3(Master).
• Usetheprevious1‐4steps
todeskewC3(Master)toC2(Master).
Note:DonotadjustthedeskewontheC2(Master)Channelsincethisisthereference.Alwaysadjust
deskewontheotherMasterchannelsC3,C4,andC1tothisreference.
• RepeatthepreviousstepfortheremainingC4,andC1Masterchannels.

Obtaining Most Accurate Results
Theaboveproceduredescribesthemos taccuratedeskewpossibleusingtheZi‐8CH‐SYNCH.However,more
accuracymaybeobtainedthroughanadditionalmanualadjustmentofsinglelongacquisitionsofcustomer
data.
Forinstance,theMasterandSlaveoscilloscopescanbedeskewedwithreferencetoeachotherwithin2.5ps
rms
,
andindividualchannelsontheSlaveorMastercanbedeskewedtomuchbetterthan1pswithreferenceto
eachother.However,ausermaydesirebetterthan2.5ps
rms
skewbetweentheMasterandSlavechannels.
Inthiscase,deskewtheMasterandSlaveoscilloscopesasdescribedabove,andthenusethelongmemoryof
theLeCroyoscilloscopestomakeasinglelongacquisition.Oncetheacquisitioniscompletedandallchannels
aredisplayedontheMasterdisplaygrid,
createzoomwaveformsoftheC2(Master)andC2(relabeledC6,
Slave)previouslyusedasreferencechannelsfordeskewingtheMastertotheSlaveoscilloscope.
